 INEC Ad-Hoc Staff Recruitment for the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened applications for the recruitment of Ad-Hoc Staff for the conduct of the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.

The exercise is open to qualified Nigerians including serving corps members, former corps members, final-year and penultimate students, public servants, and eligible staff of government institutions and agencies depending on the position being applied for.

Successful applicants will support various aspects of election administration and operations during the election period.

About the Recruitment

INEC recruits ad-hoc staff for major elections to support activities such as voter accreditation, polling unit management, result processing, logistics coordination, technical support, and election administration.

The recruitment is being conducted through the INEC Portal for the Engagement of Election Staff (INECPRES).

  • Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs)
  • Presiding Officers (POs)
  • Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs I, II, III)
  • Registration Area Centre (RAC) Managers
  • Registration Area Technical Support Staff (RATECH)

Eligibility Requirements by Position

Supervisory Presiding Officer (SPO)

Applicants must be:

  • Public or Civil Servants on Grade Level 10–14.
  • Registration Area Officers or INEC staff not engaged in other duties on Grade Level 10–14.

Presiding Officer (PO) and Assistant Presiding Officer (APO)

Applicants must fall under any of the following categories:

  • Serving NYSC members.
  • Penultimate students of Federal or State tertiary institutions in Nigeria with knowledge of IT.
  • Permanent staff of MDAs with OND qualifications or on Grade Level 07–10.
  • INEC permanent staff on Grade Level 07 and 08.
  • Former corps members who completed NYSC not earlier than 2023.

Registration Area Centre (RAC) Manager

Applicants must be:

  • Heads of schools hosting a RAC centre.
  • Staff of schools, institutions, or public buildings hosting the RAC and on Grade Level 07 and above.

Registration Area Technical Support Staff (RATECH)

Applicants must:

  • Have an IT background.
  • Be suitable ICT staff of INEC at State or Headquarters level who are not engaged in any other duties.

General Eligibility Requirements

Applicants:

  • Must not be members of any political party.
  • Must not have publicly supported any candidate or political party.
  • Must reside in the state selected during application, except RATECH applicants.
  • Must apply under the category that currently applies to them.
