University College Cork Scholarship 2026 in Ireland
19 Fully-funded PhD Opportunities at University College Cork as part of Rinn Artificial Intelligence are available for EU and non-EU students to start on October 1st 2026 representing a total investment of €2.85 million.
The Research Ireland Rinn network, launched in June 2026, has been established to:
- address the key challenges and opportunities of our time through excellence in research and
- innovation – igniting the next generation of positive societal, economic and environmental
- transformation for Ireland and the world.
As part of Rinn Artificial Intelligence applications are invited for a cohort of 19 PhD studentships within University College Cork’s Futures for Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics.

The benefits of the University College Cork Scholarship 2026 include;
- Each PhD scholarship is worth a total of €150,000 and provides for a stipend of €25,000 per year for four years (tax free) with additional funds available to support e.g., conference attendance, equipment, and training activities.
- Fees for EU students will be covered automatically, while non-EU students will receive a fee waiver from University College Cork.
- Alongside their individual PhD research, students will benefit from a structured, cohort-based
PhD training programme. - Students will benefit from extensive engagement with industry and public service partners
and from an enrichment experience e.g., industry training placements, an academic
research visit to an internationally renowned collaborating institution, or other similar
activities.

- Applications are open and will be reviewed on a fortnightly basis until all positions have been filled.
